日本はかなりの"戦国時代"ブームです。
NHKの大河ドラマでは昨年は
鎌倉時代がリアルに描かれました。
現在(2023年11月執筆時点)は江戸時代の開祖である、
徳川家康の生涯が描かれ、
木村拓哉主演の織田信長の映画、
THE LEGEND & BUTTERFLYも春に公開されました。

そうした様々な戦国時代のドラマを
ずらした形で、
北野武監督の最新映画【首】が
2023年の11月23日に、
ついに公開されました。
製作費は日本円で15億。

【アウトレイジ最終章】以来、なんと
6年ぶりとなる北野武監督の新作である映画タイトル【首】は、
諸般の事情で一時は"お蔵入り"とされていました。

私はキタノ監督のファンです。
"大ファン"といえるかもしれません。
監督の映画は総て観ておりますし、
映画"HANA-BI"(Fireworks）を含めると
何度も見直す作品も数多いです。

たとえば今年の2022年。全世界で公開され極めて評価の高い"トムクルーズ"主演の"トップガンマーヴェリック"(Top Gun"Maverick")という映画作品がある。映画というひとつの表現手法においてもその"あらすじ"や"物語の顛末"をどれだけ調べ知っている"前者"がいたとしても"リアル"に劇場に出向き"本物"の映画作品を"直"に"体感"した者にとっては前者がなんの意味もなさないのと同様に、優れた表現作品にはそのような傾向を多分に...

外国、特に欧州での北野さんは
映画監督として大変に有名ですが、
日本の場合ですと監督の前に、
コメディアンとしての"ビートたけし"、
TV司会者や役者、タレントとして有名で
当然ながら、"キタノ嫌い"(アンチ・キタノ)の方も
少なからずおられますｗ。

映画"首"(Kubi)は構想からなんと30年。
宣伝文によると、かの"黒澤明"監督から
「北野くんがこれを撮れば、【七人の侍】と並ぶ傑作が生まれるはず」との
「お墨付き」をいただいたという本編となります。

"本能寺の変"をめぐるこの
新作である日本の戦国時代劇（【座頭市】から20年ぶりとなる）は、
実は2年前の2021年10月にはクランクアップしていました。

それが今年の5月の
カンヌ国際映画祭でのプレミア上映に
ぎりぎり間に合うまで完成が遅れたのは、
編集過程での製作会社KADOKAWAと
"北野サイド"との"こじれ"が作用していた様子です。

東京オリンピック・パラリンピックのスポンサー契約問題で
逮捕された"角川歴彦"会長が関与していました。

その大物プロデューサーの逮捕と役員辞任の影響は大きかった。
さらに【首】はそれだけではない"悪条件"が重なり過ぎた様子です。

まず、これまで北野作品を支えつづけてきた
森昌行プロデューサーとの"決別"という事態。

2018年3月の"オフィス北野"の分裂問題がありました。
これにより森氏は同社にとどまり、
北野武は新たに「T.Nゴン」という個人事務所を立ち上げ、
事実上2人の仕事関係に終止符が打たれてました。

映画製作に直接的には無関係ではあるももの、
この時期の北野武のもう1つの節目となったのことは、
プライベート上での"2019年の離婚"でしょうか。
そして今年5月のカンヌには、
再婚相手の北野夫人が監督とそろって
レッドカーペットを踏むという
"ハプニング"がありました。

これから世界中で数十という
言語訳されて配信されるであろう
北野監督の"首"。

細かい内容を話してしまうと
問題なので慎みますがｗ、
私の感想としては、
この映画は"日本人を相手にしていない！"
ということです。

"殺陣"シーンや合戦のシーンは相当に迫力があります！
日本古来の"雅"も美しく描写されるシーンがあります！
戦国時代の日本の中世に
間違いなく存在していた"忍者"も登場します。

特に、欧州の観客の方は"新鮮"な衝撃を受けるかもしれません。

全編これでもかと言うように"生首"が飛び交います。

さすがに観ていてある意味"首フェティシズム"とでも
表現出来そうな嫌悪感とその不毛で根拠のなさ(事実)を、
北野武は"俺は百姓だ"という"秀吉"の台詞で鮮やかに描き切ります。
それが農民を代表とする"成り上がり者"の真っ当な"正気"である!
とでも明言するかの様に！

「大河はきれいな出世物語しかやらない。
自分が撮ればこうなるという発想から、
欲や妬み、殿に命を懸ける家臣との男同士の絡み合いなど、
人間の裏側を描いた。これが正しくはないけど、こういう見方もある」

原作は2019年に発売した自身の同名著書。

試写会で映画が構想30年と紹介されれば、
「３週間の間違いじゃないか？」と笑いながら監督のコメント。

同じようにリアルに"美しく"描写してくれることです！
