会社の上司が
突然退職すると
突然知った。

本当に驚いた。

部下であり続けた私とその上司は
12年以上の社会的な仕事上でのおつきあいがあった。

"縁"というのは怖ろしいものである。
"縁”には偶然とは思えない"必然性"がある。

上司が退職する事は
私が辞職する前に，
"先手"を打たれたような
気持ちになった。

ショックを受けている。

余程，"お考え"のあっての事であろう。

会社としての任務の高さは，
私は遠く及ばない。

それでも，酸いも甘いも時として何処かで
"共有"出来ていると感じさせる"上司"だった。

いやな事も多かった。
頭に来ることも多かった。

でもそれ以上に，学ぶ点や私を"気付かせて"くれた人物。

私より実年齢は若いが，
向学心の高さや将来を見据える意識の高さは，
私にとっても尊敬出来る要素のたくさんあった方であった。

課内では，
"餞別"に集金を行っている。

当然私も参加者であるが，
いまひとつ，何かが欠けていた。

何か，ほんの些細な気持ちで，
何かを自分なりにお渡ししたかった。

上司は私より若い世代なのに凄い"読書家"であった。

かつ，情報の整理や効率化においては徹底的に現代の
WebCloudやデジタル化を厭わなかった。

最後のお別れになる。

あと数日しかない。

そんな上司であるから，
私は"書籍"をお渡ししたいと思った。

違う角度や次元でも，
何か上司にとって通底するテーマや課題を
探ってお渡し出来る書籍を考えた。

本当はこの二冊をお渡ししたかった。

けれどもこの様なある意味"特殊な書籍"は大型書店でもなかなか在庫の
ない書籍である。最後の切り札であるAMAZONの物販でももう，配達完了までの時間がなかった。

悩んだ。
渡すのは，諦めるしかないのか。

いや，数万冊以上は読破している自分の脳内で，
整理し始めた。

一冊に絞る事。
その書は"ほんもの"でなくてはいけない。
何かあった筈だ。
上司にふさわしい，書籍が。

もう時間がない。

車の中や，タバコを吸いながら色々考えた。

突然，
その"答え"が去来した！

あの書籍しかない。
ただ，書店に偶然置いてあれば良いが・・。

上司はこの書籍の存在をおそらく知っているだろう。
読破した事があるかも知れない。所有しているかも知れない。
しかし，そんな事を考える時間はもうない。

何かの機会に偶然頁を捲ってくれるだけでもいい。

その書籍とは

"君主論"であった。

大型書店のデータベースで検索して貰い，それぞれ
違う出版社から発行されている文庫本が1冊ずつ在庫があるという。

軽く，見せて貰った。
一冊目は"誤訳"の多そうな内容だった。

もう一冊の方が好感持てた。
