これはアサヒペンの油性トタン用の塗料
の作業のレポ(報告書)になっているかも知れません。
長文になってしまいます。

父が遺した作業場がありました。
生前、木工職人であった父は
非常にタフで仕事柄とても器用でした。
自分で出来ることは何でも行うことの出来るひとでした。
しかし2つだけ半世紀以上"手付かず"の課題というか
諦めていたと思われる
建物の修繕箇所がありました。

それは築年数が半世紀以上経過する
作業場の外装の裏側及び側面の箇所。
特に裏側の外装側面は"太った野良猫"さえ
通り抜けが出来ない程の極めて狭い箇所です。
掲載した写真の通りです。

裏の住居のコンクリート塀と
自宅の作業場の外装の距離は数十㎝程。
ある意味日本の"民法上の50cmルール"が
完全に無視されています。
隣地所有者の承諾がある場合とその地域(鎌倉)に
慣習がある場合は例外となり得ているだけですｗ。

そして6メートル以上の垂直の作業場の外装は
"波打ち"のトタンで覆われています。
半世紀も経過しているので外観は酷く
錆びに覆われていました。
塗料作業前の状態は掲載写真の通りです。

父は晩年、その作業場の比較的
狭くない反対側の外壁の塗装をひとりで行いました。
その際、生まれて初めてハシゴから落下したのです。
おそらく4メートル以上高所からの落下でしたが、
奇跡的に無傷で助かりました。
↓焦げ茶色部が生前父が再塗装を行った際、高所から落下。
赤色部が今回私が施工した箇所。

そういった経緯もあり、
父が亡くなったあとも、
私にはこのある意味因縁のあるこの建物の塗装は
自分には絶対に無理だと考えていました。

しかしそう思う反面、
心の中で常に頭から離れなくなって
しまって、どうにかしたかった。

プロの専門の塗装業者に委託すれば
間違いなく重い"札束"が必要でしょう。

そもそもまず足場を組む必要があり、
その足場も70㎝どころか猫も通れない
箇所があるので、裏に住んでいる方の
庭を拝借して足場を組む必要が生じるのは必須です。
こうした作業を"越境塗装"と呼ぶらしいです。

しかし、
父の一周忌が経過する頃、
ついに決心しました。

"供養"の気持ちも込めて、
安全第一で自分ができるだけの
ことをしようと自分だけで高所の
"越境塗装"を施工することに決めました。

幸い、高所用のハシゴは既に
所有していたので届かないところは
作業用の台（机)の上にハシゴを乗せて
6.5メートル以上の高い箇所の
塗装も行うことを決意しました。

塗料は、当初地味な色である
油性の"赤さび"色を検討していましたが、
思い切って、
ド派手な"ニューレッド"と
いう塗料を選択！

艶もあり、
兎に角"派手"な色です。
まずは12㎏を購入し
手塗り作業の開始でした！

けれども、困難は多く、
側面側のすぐ横のお宅は
綺麗な緑の人工芝が！！

其処に真っ赤な飛沫が飛んだら
取り返しのつかないことになります！！
さらに真裏の方にも足場は組まないにせよ、
梯子を庭に入れての越境塗装となる為、
まずはご挨拶に行きました。

裏の住民の方は
先代からの永いお付き合いで
快諾を得ることが出来て
側面の緑の人工芝のお宅の方も
快く承知して頂き感謝しました！

他人の方の所有するフェンスや地面等も
総て塗装飛沫が飛ばないように養生シート
で徹底的に防御しておきました。

最初は安全確保の為に
高所だけでも塗料を薄めて
スプレーガンを使おうと作業してみましたが、
噴霧する時間よりもスプレーガンの
アイドルタイムの方が優位で
時間ばかり浪費してしまい、
すぐに却下。

左手で塗料を入れた缶、
右手にて刷毛で手塗りという
かなりのリスクを承知で
長時間作業に挑戦。

高所作業中では
風に吹かれ、
私の背後を
平行に様々な鳥や
カラスが通過して
いたりしていました。

または
塗料を顔や
躰に被ってしまったり、
作業途中で辛いなと感じたり、
トラブルはつきませんでしたが、
最後までやりきれました！

もしも塗料が地味でつまらない色だったり、
塗り難い塗料だったら途中で
断念していたかも知れません。
施工の後日。。
"達成感"はかなりのものとなりました！
※実母には当初、不評でしたが、
最近は何も色に対して文句を言わなく
なりましたし、近所の小学生の少年にも
"派手な色"を褒められました！！

はっきり言えば、
私のやり方は
誰にでも推奨できる作業内容では
ないと思います。

両手の塞がった状態での
高所での梯子での塗装は
常に落下のリスクを孕んでいました。

作業中に私なりに工夫した点では
常に体幹を"エビ反り"のし
バランス意識を持つこと、そして重要なのは
必ず梯子の格子の内側に片腕を挟んでおき
落下防止策を講じることでした。

それでも何十回と
"冷や汗"の出る機会はありましたが、
"父"が安全確保の為、
ずっと見守っていてくれていたのかも知れません。
高所からの落下は一度もなく無事でした。

プロの方には失笑されてしまうかも知れませんが、
ダイソー(Daiso Industries Co., Ltd.)の100円の
70㎜の刷毛はこの塗料を使う上で大変重宝しました。
刷毛が軽く、塗料を吸って"我慢してくれている!!"というか、
使い捨て使用で何本も消費しました。

また、作業場の真裏の
極めて狭くてひとが通ることも不可能な垂直塗装に
おいては伸縮式塗装用延長ポールをぶら下げる形で多用し、
先端はやはりダイソー(Daiso Industries Co., Ltd.)の
100円の小型のローラーを何百回と上下し塗装しました。
使用していた塗料をたくさん吸収してくれ、
波打ったトタンを塗り終えることが出来ました。

実際の作業時間は20時間程度だったかも知れません。
やや執念での作業だったかも知れませんが、
こんな不器用な私でも絶対に無理と思っていた
高所かつ極めて塗装し難い作業も無事に終え、
大変満足しています。

↓↑今回外壁再塗装を行った建物の60年前の設計図です。

最後に本文はまるで
塗装作業においての報告書みたいですが、
今回施工した波打ちトタン面積に対する
消費する塗料の概算を報告させて頂きます。
平面にたいし、波打ちトタンとは乱暴な説明だと
凹凸面積です。つまり厳密な塗装係数が含まれません。
波型の場合、トタンに関わらず、1.4を乗算(かけ算)します。
つまり、今回私が行った施工のひとつの作業場の側面は(建物掲載図参照)
真裏の外装値が平面だと6600㎜(6M60㎝)×5460㎜(5M46㎝)=36036000㎜
側面の外装値が平面だと6600㎜(6M60㎝)×3600㎜(3M60㎝)=23760000㎜
㎜=0．001メートルの為、
36.0360平方メートルと
23.760平方メートルの面積となります。
上記に1.4を乗算し、
36.036×1.4=50.045平方メートルと
23.760×1.4=33.264平方メートルと判断出来ます。
上値を合算すると83.309平方メートル。
今回は油性塗料のうすめ液も使用。
本製品の塗り面積の机上値は:84~130平方メートル(タタミ51~78枚分)。
2箇所に加え、さらに"林場"と俗称される木材置き場も完全に塗装。
12㎏ひと缶をさらに追加購入いたしましたが、
合計2缶で充分に塗料がまだ余っています。
ご参考になれば幸いです。

This might be a reporter of the work of paints for
an oily tinplate of the Asahipen(ASAHIPEN CORPORATION).
It becomes a long sentence.
Father was and there was a bequeath workshop.
During one's life, it was very tough and the work handle of father who was the woodwork workman was dexterous.
Being possible my to do was a person who was able to do anything.
However, there were only two mending parts
in the problem of "Untouched" or the building that seemed that it had given it longer than half a century.
It is the other side of the exterior of the workshop where years since construction passes longer than half a century and a part of the side view.
Especially, the exterior side view on the other side is an extremely narrow part as even
"Fat homeless cat" cannot do the street omission.
As shown in published photograph.
The distance of the exterior of the workshop at a concrete wall in the dwelling in the back and home : by about tens of ㎝.
"50cm rule in the civil law" of a certain meaning Japan is completely disregarded.
Only that may be made to become to exception when there is custom in the region (in Kamakura)
in case of case there to be next estate having person's acceptance. “LOL"…
And, the exterior of a vertical workshop of six meters or more is covered with the tinplate of "Wave".
Because half a century passed, too appearance was cruelly covered with rust.
The state before it works of paints is as shown in the publishing photograph.
Father comparatively painted the outside wall of the workshop on the other side not narrow alone in later years.
In that case, it fell from the ladder for the first time.
It survived miraculously flawlessly though it was a fall from the height perhaps by four meters or more.
It was thought that it was absolutely impossible for me to paint this building where
I had this meaning connection that was after there was such details, too and father died.
However, I wanted not to part from the head in the mind while thought so, and to do somehow.
Correct, heavy "Bundle of bills" might be necessary if it consigns it to a professional special painting trader.
Because it is necessary to put up scaffolding first of all, and there is to begin with a part that the work stand and the cat to say nothing of 70㎝ cannot pass,
it is indispensable to cause the necessity for the borrowing of the garden of the living in the back and putting up scaffolding.
It seems to call such work "Border crossing painting".
However, when the First anniversary of my father's death passed, it finally determined it.

It is glossy, and, anyway, .."Flashy".. color.
12㎏ was first bought and beginning of the hand paint work.
However, beautiful green astroturf : the house just beside the side view side difficultly a lot.
When a red spray flies there, it is irreparable.
In addition, because the work stand became border crossing painting that put the ladder
in the garden back of the truth even if it did not unite it, it first called it on to pay respects.
The resident in the back expressed gratitude for being able to obtain consenting willingly because of long association of the predecessor
and agreeing to the house of green astroturf of the side view pleasantly.
It defended thoroughly in the care seat so that all the painting sprays should not fly over the fence and the ground, etc. that others owned.
The spray gun idle time wastes dominant than the atomization time only at time,
and it rejects it at once though it worked even if even only the height thins paints first for security and the spray gun is used.
It challenges work for a long time with the brush by ..considerable risk of painting the hand.. agreement in the can and the right hand that put paints in the left hand.
It was blown to the wind in the high-place work, and various birds and crows were passing my back in parallel.
Paints were covered, and felt be not painful in face and while working, and or, the trouble was able to finish being done to the last minute though did not attach.
It was likely to have abandoned it on the way if paints were a sober, trivial colors, and paints not colored easily.
Later of construction
"Achievement feeling" was considerable.
※When I first painted it, my mother didn't like it.But recently I have stopped complaining.A local elementary school boy complimented me on the "bright" colors!!
I think that my way is not a work contents that can be recommended to everyone to put it squarely.
Painting with the ladder in the height in the state that both hands are blocked always conceived the risk of the fall.
It always lectured on the body trunk in the point that I devised while working in my own way,
and be to place the right hand without fail in the lattice of the ladder
and to have lectured on the fall prevention plan that it had the balance consideration of doing of "Prawn spring", and it was and important.
Still, does "Father" watch for a long time for security, did it exist, and it is not possible to know though there was a chance that tens of times and "Cold sweat" go out.

The brush of 70㎜ of the “100 yen"-“One dollar's"
of Daiso (Daiso Industries Co . Ltd.) was very found useful in using this paints though it was likely to be laughed to the professional.
The brush is light, paints are breathed in, and it has consumed by "It endures and exist" or disposable use of how many.
It multiused it in shape to hang extension Paul for the expansion and contraction type painting,
and moreover, the point moved still up and down and painted a small roller
of the “100 yen"-“One dollar's" of Daiso (Daiso Industries Co . Ltd.) with hundreds of times in an extremely narrow
and passed by the person an impossible, vertical painting the painting of the back of the truth in the workshop.
A lot of paints used were able to finish being absorbed, and the waving tinplate being painted.
Actual working hours might have been about 20 hours.

Please let me report on the rough estimate of consumed paints to the area
of the waving tinplate constructed this time at the end as if the text is a report in the painting operation.
When the waving tinplate is a violent explanation compared with the plane, it is a ruggedness area.
A in a word strict painting coefficient is not included.
1.4 is multiplied regardless of the tinplate in case of the shape of waves.

The reducer of the oil-base paint is used this time.
The desk price all time high of the paint area of this product: 84-130 square meters (By as many as 51-78 tatami).
"Forestry field" in addition to two places and the common name wood depository are completely painted.
Person..can..further..addition..purchase..total..can..enough..paints..still..remain.
