自動車整備に関して私は
完全なアマチュア(日曜)メカニックです。
実は"ディープ・ソケット"だけの
ツール・セットを購入する予定でしたが、
"頑固親父"の私がついに？結局はソケット・レンチの
"フル・セット"を一式購入してしまったというお話です。
工具のメーカーは初めて購入するデウォルト(DeWALT)社製。
""アメリカン""・・です。
("メリケン"？って何？日本語の俗語_?メリケン=アメリカ流という意味らしい)
外国ではかなり有名なブランドみたいですね。
電動工具やハンドツールを製造する
アメリカの世界的トップブランドだとか・・。
"見た目"だけで道具を買うのは今回
"生まれて初めて"です。
過去に私はハンドリングするツールは
少しずつ全てドライバー１本から始まり"個別"に購入してきました。
(例えばドライバーの殆どは日本のVESSEL社製です)
"工具セット"と名のつく商品を購入したのは
生まれて初めてかもしれません。
(いや"50cc"のバイクの免許を取った子供の頃に一度買った
ことがありました。とても小さいソケット・レンチの
セットで今は滅多に使うことはありませんが
破棄出来ずに今でも持っていますｗ）
工具セットといっても
今回私が購入したオートバイや自動車専用のボルトやナットに
使用する目的の六角のソケットレンチがたくさん入っているものから、
一般の家庭で日常で使えるようなドライバーやペンチが一式入ったものや、
D.I.Y.(日本で謂うところの日曜大工)にも使えるような割と本格的な
ノコギリや電動ドライバーが一式入ったもの等"多種多様"なものがあります。
本来ならばハンドリングする工具は実人生で
"一生つきあう"こともあるので、
全て一度は必ず手に取って使う"ご本人"が
納得してから購入するのが"ベター"というよりも
"ベスト"だと思います。
私の場合はだいたいの道具は揃っている筈ですが、
単品で購入してきたために、
アウトドアで使用するためにはかなりの工夫が
必要となります。
自動車関連の工具となれば整備ガレージが完備した場所での
キャスター工具入れに満載されたツールが凝縮されて整理整頓された
プロフェッショナルの修理場所や整備工場とは違い、アマチュアが
無造作に道具を入れた状態で野外で整備すると
"道具に振り回されて"思わぬ時間が掛かってしまうケースも屡々あります。
つまり好きなだけ整備や修理が行えないのが
"アマチュアの世界"="現実"です。
(夜の自動車整備も不可能ではありませんが、一般的には
"日没"と共にクルマの整備を終了するのではないでしょうか？）
この辺りはプロが
考えたこともない歴然とした作業現場の
"温度差"だと思います。
アマチュアにとって、
そうしたトラブルを回避する手っ取り早い"Tips"は可搬性の高い
ツールセットをまず一式揃えてしまうことだと思います。
さらに道具の視認性を大幅にアップしてくれる専用ケースなどあると
作業効率は大幅にアップするでしょう。
(作業中に何を"掴んでいるか？"という事がすぐに理解できるからです）
一つ一つのツールが簡単に探し易いということは
野外での修理と整備に最も欠かせない大事な要素です。
今回購入したデウォルト(DeWALT)社のケースは樹脂製ですが極めて屈強でした。
中身の道具は全く"暴れません"。
その代わりにしっかり内部で
"ジョイント"=固定されているために
道具を外すのに"コツ"は必要です。
道具を仕舞う="マウント"する際には
とても派手な"甲高い大きい音"がしますｗ。
私は何十年にも渡って使用し続けてきた"古ぼけた道具入れ"に
整備の予定に使う道具を予めしまって"前準備"をしてから
常にクルマの整備を行ってきました。
そうした"やり方"は
やはり無駄が多いんです。
"アマチュア"にとっては
時間との"闘い"となるからです。
今回のこのソケット・セットの場合は
余計なものを省いた主に六角ボルト専用の
ツール・セットです。
こうしたツール・セットに
数本のドライバーとペンチが加われば
"鬼に金棒"でしょう。
（少なくともバイクや"自転車"など各ボルトへの
アクセスが自動車と比較して容易で
"クリアランス"がしっかり取れるような場合は
"無敵"=無敗でしょう)
今回私が購入した商品は
"コストコ"で展示？されていたデウォルト(DeWALT)社製の
レンチセットで透明のシールドでシュリンク(包装)されて展示
されていました。
つまり実際に道具を
"手で持ったこと"は
全くありませんでした。
結局はそうした理由から商品を購入するのに時間が掛かったのです。
(プロの通う工具店では全て手で実際触れる環境下にありますし、
道具のある意味"衝動買い"は未体験だったからです)
私にとっては"黄色と黒"の派手な
企業イメージしかなかったプロダクト=製品。
正式製品名称は"Dewalt Mechanics Tool Set 173pc"。
専用ケースに収納されています。
173個のツールが入っているという品です。
非常に"低価格な商品"といえるでしょう。
中身の工具はミリ単位とインチ単位のどちらも同数の同類の
ツールが入っています。
ケースの内部は非常に分かりやすく配置されいます。
つまり外車のオートバイや自動車にも対応が可能です。
現在の私の場合は
日本車なので道具の半分(インチ)は関係ないツールも多いですが、
インチソケットもあっても不都合はないと思わせてくれます。
(将来"ハーレー・ダビットソン"を所有する可能性は低いと思っていますが、
外車や外国産のボルトやナットを多用した棚や家具を所有する可能性があります）
なかには"メルセデスのジープ"でも所有しない限り使うことはあり得ないのでは？！
と思うほどの大口径の六角ソケットも存在します。
重さは精査はしていませんが、体感では
ケース込みで重量10㎏はないと感じました。
非常に可搬性に富んでいます。
私は展示品で見かけた事はないのですが、
同じ仕様でツールが全て"ブラッククローム”色のものがあるそうです。
"Dewalt Mechanics Tool Set 173pc"とはモデルタイプが違う製品
"ネット"では確かにあって見た目は精悍で
購買意欲は注がれるものの、
"実務"では黒色は"仇"となるケースもあります。
私の場合に限るかもしれませんが、
道具自体の光の反射率が少ないとライトを照らしても
"アウトドア"環境下では落とした道具がなかなか見つからないことがありますｗ。
"Dewalt Mechanics Tool Set 173pc"のケースを
部屋の室内でオープンすると本当に"デカイ"なぁと感じますが、
野外だと全然そんなことはありません。
購入し自宅に戻って初めて
道具を実際触ってチェックしてみたところ、
おぉ!!..低価格な割に
操作フィーリングが
いいんですよ!これが本当に！。
低価格な割に
品質が実に高くて良い。
しかし気がついてしまった事はこのデウォルト(DeWALT)の
"Dewalt Mechanics Tool Set 173pc"は極めてよい製品だけど
"自動車に特化したセットではない"ということ・・。
つまり、大型二輪(オートバイ)に最も適している！!
つまり、自転車の改造や整備、
自動二輪(バイク）のバッテリー交換などにおいて
"最適化"されているセットです。
製品の内容は軽く"オーバースペック"の仕様ではあります。
自動車(特に日本の小型車)においては、
"エクステンションバー"の追加は必須となるでしょう。
今回はこのセットに別メーカーの15㎝と25㎝の
"ウォブルエクステンションバー"を別途購入することにしました。
("ウォブル"とは角度を付けてアクセスできる仕様のことです）
これによってエンジンルーム内部やその他の場所において
ソケットが奥まで届かない場合は
ソケットを延長するツールを用いることで
目的の箇所に完全にアクセスすることが可能になります。
後日・・。
青空の下。
やはり屋外ではデウォルト(DeWALT)の
ケースを開けても"デカイ"とは感じません。
クルマの下に潜り"クリーパー"(車輪付き荷台)を使用せずに
素潜りして仰向けになってラチェットを使用して
"マフラー"周りのナットを"舐めて"(回して)みました。
・・・!!。
"悪くない"・・。
もの凄く良い感触です。
これは"使えます"!!

【"Dewalt Mechanics Tool Set 173pc"に関する備忘録】
以下・・
本製品全てのツールを
触りはしませんでしたが、
当初"実務"で使用する前に"雑感"ながら
感じたことや個人的に思ったことを
徒然に記して記事を〆させて頂きます。
道具の購入の一助になれば幸いです。
※本体は"ポールポイント形状"ではない
"トルクス形状"の小さい六角レンチが
ほぼフル装備で入っている。
(六角棒レンチのうち一般的に使用頻度が高いのは3mmと6mmの2種類で、
小さなサイズのものだと紛失しやすく"セット"になっているものが
ベターの私の経験則)
贅沢を言えばきりがないが、
"ポールポイント形状"のタイプとは先端が丸みを帯びており、
斜めからアクセスが可能なこと。
0-25度くらいの角度からレンチを挿入できるため、
値段=コストが上がる。本製品は"トルクス形状"の標準タイプであった。
※デウォルト(DeWALT)社のこの工具セットは
ラチェットハンドルが1/4、3/8、1/2。
3種類ありオートバイクから自動車まで
幅広く使えるのは前述した通り。
【1/4、3/8、1/2とは？】
車両整備等で古くから使う差し込み角は3つ。
つまり1/4 3/8 1/2。
これはいわゆる世界規格であり
"どの国"でも"どの地域"でも
"どの業界"でも世界統一の規格。
もともと”差し込み式のソケット"を作ったのがアメリカであった為に、
インチの規格がそのままラチェットの差し込み角の規格として今も採用されている。
ミリサイズに換算すると

1/4 ＝ 6.35mm
3/8 ＝ 9.5mm
1/2 ＝ 12.7mm

となる。
※極めて使用する"片目片口"の"コンビ・スパナセット"が
無敵ともいえる程に数多くセットされている。
(片目が180度"フレックスヘッド採用のラチェット式"であったらベストであった。
けれどもこのセットを含むと大幅な価格アップになるから仕方がない・・)
※大事な要点として肝心のラチェットハンドルの
"駒"数だが(つまり道具の"送り角度"="揺れ幅")
"72"とハンドルの動く角度は現代の標準的な仕様で小さく
バイクや車のエンジンルーム内の作業が楽であるといわれている。
しかし個人的には"半端ない力"をかけれないという
デメリットとジレンマが生じるものの普通の？標準的な
使い勝手は一般的には抜群であるとおおむね評価できる。
機能的にも一般的な本締め(元締め)はおそらく十分可能な品質と判断できた。
（"激安"と呼ばれる工具の大半はラチェットのガタが多く
力を入れて使用するとすぐに壊れてしまう)
以上、今後"実用"している作業中に
気になる事があったら追記します。

Tooling it in the past ..me.. of handling all ..start..
has been being bought from one driver for "Individual" little by little.
(For instance, most of the driver is made by the VESSEL company of Japan. )
After that, might the first time purchase of commodity that gives "Tool kit" and name
(It had bought it once in childhood when it got the license of the motorcycle of unpleasant "50cc".
It was a set of a very small twelve point socket wrench and that was not able
to annul and had it still now though never used. “LOL"... )
Tool kit..say..this time..buy..motorcycle..car..bolt..nut..use..purpose..hex-head..socket wrench..a lot..one..ordinary family..usually..use..driver..pincers..complete set..enter..one..Japan..Sunday carpentry..use..comparatively..real..saw..electric..driver..complete set..enter..one..various.
Co's the handled tool also is a real life and has
"Associate through life" if original,
I think, buying it after the person in question who takes everything without fail once
and uses it consents is "Best" rather than "Better".
To use it by outdoor because it had bought it with the single item,
a considerable device is needed for me though a rough tool is sure to become complete.
When maintaining it outdoors with the difference and the amateur casually put the tool,
"It is brandished by the tool" also often has the case where the time not trowed hangs with a professional repair ship place
and the maintenance shop where the tool fully loaded to the caster tool putting
in the place fully equipped with the maintenance garage is condensed
if becoming a tool related to the car and the arrangement order was done.

It's not a set that specializes in the car" in the thing that has been noticed extremely ‥.
